In 2018, Richard accepted the George Wyman Memorial Challenge, riding a Janus Halcyon 250 from San Francisco to New York City—recreating the pioneering journey first completed by George Wyman in 1903.

This presentation will explore the legacy of Wyman’s ride and offer a firsthand account of Richard’s own cross-country experience. Attendees will gain insight into early motorcycling history, lightweight travel, and the experience of crossing the country on a simple, hand-built machine.
